Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory power house spice that supports liver and brain health. It is fat soluble and difficult to absorb which creates some challenges in using it as a health tonic. Golden milk is a good way to overcome some of these challenges. Create a paste by mixing 4 tbsp of organic dried turmeric, ½ teaspoon of organic black pepper with 4 tbsp of virgin coconut oil. This can be stored in a glass jar in the fridge for a little over a week.
To enjoy a daily anti-inflammatory beverage:
Combine 1 tsp of turmeric paste and 1 tsp of cinnamon powder into 1 cup of boiling water. Add raw local honey to taste and 1 cup of unsweetened almond or coconut milk.May 21, 2018
